Dietary sodium effects on renin and angiotensinogen gene expression in preweanling WKY and SHR

Kirby et al examined the influence of altered dietary sodium on angiotensinogen and renin gene expression in young normotensive Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) and spontaneously hypertensive (SHR) rats. Young WKY and SHR rats share similar ontogenetic patterns of angiotensinogen and renin gene expression.
