Inward rectifier potassium channels in the rat middle cerebral artery

Inward rectifier K+ channels (KirS) were studied in the isolated perfused rat middle cerebral artery (MCA). The addition of 15 mM K+ (KCl) to the extraluminal bath dilated the MCAs.
