Ischemic preconditioning in human and rat ventricle

Cleveland et al conclude that functional cardioadaptation (preconditioning) against hypoxia-reoxygenation injury in rat and human myocardium exists and that alpha1-adrenergic and adenosine receptor signaling participate in conferring this protection.
