Dietary sodium stimulates ouabainlike activity in adrenalectomized spontaneously hypertensive rats

The hypothesis that both the adrenal glands and the hypothalamus produce componds with ouabainlike activity (OLA) was tested. The results are consistent with the concept that the central nervous system may represent the major source of both central and peripheral OLA.
