Effect of anemia on cardiac function, microvascular structure, and capillary hematocrit in rat hearts

The effect of anemia on the coronary microcirculation was studied in young male rats. Chronic anemia resulted in incrased left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and decreased functional reserve.
