Estrogen pretreatment directly potentiates endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation of porcine coronary arteries

The results of a study of hogs indicate that direct 18- to 22-h exposure of coronary arteries to physiological concentrations of 17beta-estradiol enhances endothelium-dependent nitric oxide-mediated vasorelaxation.
