Ischemic cardioprotection by ATP-sensitive K(positive) channels involves high-energy phosphate perservation

The results of a study to investigate the relationship between activation of adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium ion channels and preservation of high-energy phosphates during global no-flow ischemia in arterially perfused guinea pig right ventricular walls are presented and discussed.
