Structurization of Titanium Carbide Ceramics Involving Master Alloys Containing Silicon Carbide, Silicon Nitride, and Iron Silicide

The paper studies the structurization of titanium carbide ceramics with additions of synthesized superfine SiC–Fe 2 O 3 powder composites as master alloys under pressureless sintering. The superfine master alloy particles promoted a homogeneous structure in TiC 0.7 N 0.3 titanium carbonitride and ha...

Zusammenfassung:The paper studies the structurization of titanium carbide ceramics with additions of synthesized superfine SiC–Fe 2 O 3 powder composites as master alloys under pressureless sintering. The superfine master alloy particles promoted a homogeneous structure in TiC 0.7 N 0.3 titanium carbonitride and hardening of the resultant materials. The mechanical properties of the materials were examined.
