The Literary History of Nook Farm Tour, featuring The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and The Mark Twain House and Museum (review)

Mooney-Melvin discusses The Literary History of Nook Farm Tour offered during the 2019 National Council on Public History (NCPH) annual meeting which gave attendees an excellent opportunity to explore two interesting sites as well as confront the challenges of interpretation within the confines of a historic site. The tour promised a morning of engaged discussion about authors Harriet Beecher Stow, and Mark Twain and an opportunity to ponder the interpretive choices of these two historic sites. The tour did not disappoint. The Nook Farm tour highlighted the importance of mission, tour guide effectiveness, and audience engagement.
