Zusammenfassung: | Functionally graded materials (FGM) are advantageous due to its inherent composition gradient, results in tunable characteristics over defined length and fulfill the application requirement. The Sigmoid Functionally graded materials (SFGM) offer advantage in terms of reduction in stresses concentration at the interfaces. The thermal residual stresses generated due to processing plays a crucial role in material properties customization in SFGM. In order to estimate the thermal residual stresses in SFGM rigorous attempts were made and the novel analytical model is developed. The effect of sigmoid function graded profile on residual stresses was investigated. The quantitative as well as qualitative assessments of thermal residual stresses in SFGM were presented and elaborated. |
