Zusammenfassung:Study of ferrites has always been a topic of immense significance from the point of view of their magnetic applications, including their usage in high frequency devices, microwave devices, bioscience. For the same, there is a need to understand magnetic properties, and their correlation with structural properties, to be able to have a suitable material for a specific application. This article reviews various spinel ferrite systems in the framework of a specific synthesis protocol (with variable synthesis parameters, including microwave assisted green synthesis etc.), a precise composition (with possibilities for its modification), and usage of post-preparation thermal treatment (e. g. - conventional furnace annealing, microwave sintering, park plasma sintering, ion irradiation etc.). Complimentary information on structural (by x-ray diffraction ‘XRD’); magnetic (by vibration sample magnetometer ‘VSM’) properties as well are described. Representative examples of ferrite nano particles are also given, depicting the effect of composition, synthesis protocol, and post-preparation treatment (including an overview of various spinel nanoparticles in tabular form), showing modification of structural, magnetic properties, correlation between them is illustrated.
