Low-temperature curing polyethersulfone (PES) coatings (LTCC-PES and LTCC-PES/PTFE) with excellent anti-corrosion properties have been successfully fabricated by introducing crosslinking agent. Water absorption of LTCC-PES is far lower than the common neat epoxy coatings, indicating LTCC-PES can display higher anti-corrosion properties. To further enhance the anti-corrosion properties of LTCC-PES, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is incorporated into LTCC-PES as filling agent to decrease the defects within LTCC-PES. Results show that LTCC-PES/PTFE exhibits lower water absorption and LTCC-PES/PTFE still possesses high anti-corrosion properties after long-term exposure to corrosive environment due to the further enhancing physical shielding effect of LTCC-PES/PTFE. |
