Transcription factor (sigma)(B) of Bacillus subtilis controls a large stationary-phase regulon

Transcription factor sigmaB of Bacillus subtilis is active during the stationary growth phase, but its physiological role remains unknown. A genetic approach to identify six new csb genes was used.
