Zusammenfassung:Increased serum cholesterol and Triglycerides levels are important risk factors for atherosclerosis (Kannel et al. 1979; John et al.2005); furthermore, the high serum levels of LDL play a critical role in the development of atherosclerosis lesions that progress from fatty streaks to ulcerated plaques following the accumulation of the LDL in the extracellular sub endo thelial space of arteries (Ross 1993). [...]lowering the abnormally increased serum TG, TC and LDL levels reduces the incidence of atherosclerosis. Thrombus formation contributes to the development of cardio vascular disease such as atherosclerosis, Stroke and hypertension (Rader et al., 2008). [...]the inhibition of thrombus formation is important to prevent cardiovascular diseases. Hyperlipidemia is induced by Triton WR-1339 hepatic cholesterol synthesis is accelerated by Triton WR-1339. [...]Triton physically alters very low density lipoproteins rendering them refractive to the action of lipolytic enzymes of blood and tissues, presenting or delaying their removal from blood. [...]herbal treatment for Hyperlipidemia has no side effects and is relatively cheap and locally available (Sreekanth and Muralidharan 2009). [...]the natural products having dual property of antihyperlipidemic and antioxidant activities can better manage the Hyperlipidemia associated disorders which are usually accompanied by increased oxidative stress.
