Zusammenfassung: | Rashomon will be considered for its contributions to the legal concepts of hearsay (statements made out of court that are repeated in court for the truth of what they assert), bias, credibility and impeachment (challenges to a witness's testimony as being inaccurate or untruthful). Through a series of flashbacks to the actual events and a subsequent police inquiry, the woodcutter and priest reveal the story from four distinct yet plausible perspectives, including that of the raped woman, her deceased husband (speaking through a medium), a bandit (the rapist) and the same woodcutter (an eyewitness). |
