Cluster of Sphingomonas paucimobilis Bacteremias Linked to Diversion of Intravenous Hydromorphone

A cluster of cases of Sphingomonas paucimobilis bacteremia was discovered, and the bacteremias were noted to be caused by intravenous administration of opiates that had been diluted with tap water in a drug-diversion scheme.
