Zusammenfassung: | "What are feminist theologians saying about the rearing and formation of children? Both critics of feminist theology and feminist theologians alike frequently answer, 'not enough.'" (THEOLOGY TODAY) This essay reviews and analyzes "the critique made of feminists in this regard, correcting...a common misunderstanding of feminist motives and identifying where the critique intimates a needed challenge. Before feminist theologians can fully engage questions such as 'How can we raise children who embrace their identity as Christian believers?'...a prior issue must be addressed. It is time to articulate how parents can be called both to the vocation of raising children and to other vocations. It is time to begin crafting a feminist theology of parenthood that compromises neither the full humanity of children nor the full humanity of women." |
