Zusammenfassung: | The paper examines the results of machining tests carried out on two alloys commonly used in the aircraft industry, specifically, alphabeta type titanium alloy Ti6A14V and nickel-based superalloy of type 718. In view of their excellent mechanical properties and their resistance to a wide range of temperatures, these alloys are widely used in the manufacture of turbo-engine parts. They are extremely difficult to machine, however, for various reasons. The present aim is to consider how their drilling, turning, and milling could be made more productive. |
