The Diplomacy of Wartime Relief: The United States and Poland, 1914–1918

The US first became involved in Polish affairs during WWI because of a humanitarian interest in alleviating wartime distress. Biskupski examines the history of those relief efforts and the role they played in securing Polish independence in 1918.
