Zusammenfassung: | This paper presents a systematic review of Latin American literature about the role of the teacher educator to articulate an overview of its study in the region between 2005 and 2016. The countries of these articles are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela. Using a thematic analysis, topics and methodologies are identified in the studies reviewed; likewise, conclusions and challenges for the research of the teacher educator are outlined. It is concluded that the teacher educator, as an object of research in Latin America, is a field with little theoretical and empirical development, that is,it is in a ‘construction process’. Guidelines for research are proposed. |
