Zusammenfassung:Acoustic analyses have recently been brought to bear on the phonological error pattern of final consonant omission. The results from such acoustic analyses have generally supported the correctness of the phonological analyses. The purpose of this report is to present seemingly conflicting results from a generative phonological analysis and an acoustic analysis of one misarticulating child who omitted word-final obstruents. The apparent conflict is resolved in terms of two possible explanations with differing treatment implications.
