Zusammenfassung:The transverse motions of an underground pipeline located in water-saturated fine-grained soil are studied using the developed models of interaction in the pipeline–soil system. Generally, this process should be described by a system of nonlinear equations taking into account the longitudinal and transverse motions. An approximate numerical method is used to solve the problem. The possible uplift of the pipelines located in water-saturated soil under longitudinal seismic loading is determined. The effect of the soil conditions and geometrical characteristics on the transverse motion of the underground pipeline is shown. The results of the study are presented as curves of the transverse displacements versus time and accompanied by analysis.
