Electrochemical properties of polyoxometalate composite materials containing multiple redox centers

We used cyclic voltammetry (CV) to study the electrochemical redox properties of a series of solid-state polyoxometalate composite hybrid materials supported on indium tin oxide-coated glass. Zusammenfassung:We used cyclic voltammetry (CV) to study the electrochemical redox properties of a series of solid-state polyoxometalate composite hybrid materials supported on indium tin oxide-coated glass. The hybrid materials are composed of the organofunctionalized polyoxocationic species, [ NaV 6 IV O 6 {(OCH 2 CH 2 ) 2 N(CH 2 CH 2 OH)} 6 ] + , in combination with the Keggin-structure polyoxoanions (PW 12 O 40 ) 3− , (SiW 12 O 40 ) 4− , or (SiMo 12 O 40 ) 4− . CV results show that the hybrid materials are electrochemically active, with redox events attributable to their electrochemically active molecular constituents. Strong chemical–environmental effects are also observed.
