Zusammenfassung: | In this letter, we present a new matrix formulation of range and azimuth ambiguities in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar. We consider the general hybrid case, where the scattering matrix is measured by transmitting a general orthogonal elliptical pair as interlaced pulse trains with simultaneous linear H and V receive. Earlier papers have shown some potential advantages for ambiguity suppression in this mode, and here, we confirm and expand these and show two key new ideas: first that successful suppression of range ambiguities is strongly phase dependent and second that suppression can be achieved for a set of elliptical polarizations along a great circle of the Poincaré sphere |
