The environmental perspective in local development

The research summarized in this paper addresses an issue of current concern, which is the beginning of a foray into environmental management with a territorial approach in Latin America, a region with significant environmental damage, and that needs for its sanitation or improvement. To form an environmental Strategy to help preserve the environment, although their fundamental forms of economic and social activity are dangerous for their conservation. So the objective of this research focuses on defining the basic concepts that allow the alignment of the objectives of the national environmental strategy in local strategic planning, so as to contribute to sustainable economic and social development focusing on identifying and solving the main local environmental problems.
