Zusammenfassung:The purpose of the paper is to analyze some of the challenges of quality accreditation processes in higher education in Latin America. As a methodology, a documentary research was carried out. The outstanding results were that quality accreditation should focus on the performance of universities and not on administrative processes, assess training for the knowledge society, ensure the transformation of traditional practices focused on content by addressing problems of the context and recognize and promote innovation. In conclusion, it is necessary to improve the accreditation processes by focusing on the relevant training in line with the knowledge society.
