Synthesis of therapeutically useful prostaglandin and prostacyclin analogs

Prostaglandins (PGs) and prostacyclin (PGI2) are naturally occurring substances found in animals and humans that are biosynthesized from C20 polyunsaturated fatty acids. The synthesis of therapeutically useful analogs of PGs and PGI2 is discussed.
