Zusammenfassung:Ni-Sn alloy catalysts were prepared and applied to the hydrogenation of 4-nitrostyrene at 383–423 K using H2 gas as the hydrogen donor. Ni3Sn2 alloy showed a significantly high conversion and selectivity towards 4-aminostyrene (Conv. 100%, Sel. 99%). Various unsaturated nitro compounds were also successfully converted into their corresponding unsaturated amines.
