Zusammenfassung:Echeveria sonianevadensis , a new species endemic to the fir forests of Nevado de Colima volcano, southern Jalisco, Mexico, is described and illustrated. It belongs to series Gibbiflorae and it differs from Echeveria fulgens var. obtusifolia as an apparently closest taxon in having broader, obovate and not pruinose leaves, a cylindrical and not urceolate or campanulate corolla and scarlet-red nectaries. Its conservation status according to the IUCN criteria is assessed as Critically Endangered (CR).
