Zusammenfassung: | According to Schulze, cofounder of the award‐winning hotel company Ritz‐Carlton, hiring mistakes are common and costly, no matter what field you are in. He writes here about three insights; which in his own words are: haste can be a great saboteur;make careful, information‐based selections;and assess what managers can do to cultivate success. He also posits an additional insight: “Don'thireatall. Instead, select—and then inspire.” Schulze discusses his own career in the hotel world, which began as a teenager, when he encountered “a wise maître d' who treated me and the rest of his young staff as human beings, not just function fillers.” Schulze says he “will never forget him also taking time to inspire us with the mystique of the hospitality industry.” |
