Feminist Approaches to the Survey

Dietrich and Smith-Hurd propose to reconceptualize knowledge in their discipline and to revise the teaching of the art history survey. Feminism, understood in this context to include multiculturalism, postcolonial theory, and the unfixing of boundaries in general toward the liberation of all people, will be enlisted in the course of the class. The results of their efforts are discussed.
