Feminism and Classics IV: A Report

Skinner and Vivante report on the Fourth Feminism and Classics Conference, held at the University of Arizona in Tucson on May 27-30, 2004, which explored the theme Gender and Diversity in Place. Presentations examined intersections of gender and other types of identity in relation to ancient intersections of gender and other types of identity in relation to ancient Mediterranean geographical and social environments. They discusses the diversity of the plenaries mirrored by the diversity of the individual papers, revealing the breadth of disciplines, subject, time period, geographical location, and theoretical perspective.
