Inker witnessed the inequities that the old divorce law had imposed on women and worked to convince the Massachusetts legislature to bring the state's divorce laws in conformity with the basic principles of the Uniform Marriage and Divorce Act. Because of his work in family law and his interest in protecting the rights of all participants in a divorce, Inker was known as the father of Massachusetts family law and a woman's lawyer. Inker passed away on April 15, 2006. |
