Zusammenfassung: | Since the late 1980s, an increasing number of government officials have expressed a desire to use performance measures in managing operations and for presenting objective information about the results of government programs to the public and elected officials. Numerous conferences and training sessions have been held and publications released over the past 15 years to help government officials who wish to implement managing for results systems for their governments. These systems are designed both to develop accurate and timely data that can be used for setting policies, designing programs, budgeting, managing and improving results, and to inform constituents/stakeholders about how well government is meeting its established objectives and achieving its broad mission of helping maintain or improve the well-being of its citizens.
