Bhargava and Hardisty outlined several points that contributed to the rise of the conservative movement, some of which they agree are important to the growth of a progressive movement, including ideological diversity, inquiry into core beliefs, active listening, recruitment, technology, electoral political strategy and fearless politics. The Christian right has relinquished its role as a spoiler in electoral politics, getting so active inside the Republican Party that movement activists now play a decisive role in selecting candidates for public office.
