Calcium--NOM loading onto GAC
Despite variations in the source water, Fe addition diminished Ca loading onto GAC in the presence of NOM for most water samples. On average, addition of 5 mg/L Fe(III) diminished the Ca loading by 200 mg/kg at pH 6.35. A combination of pH adjustment and Fe addition was most effective in reducing Ca...

Zusammenfassung: | Despite variations in the source water, Fe addition diminished Ca loading onto GAC in the presence of NOM for most water samples. On average, addition of 5 mg/L Fe(III) diminished the Ca loading by 200 mg/kg at pH 6.35. A combination of pH adjustment and Fe addition was most effective in reducing Ca loading onto GAC. Lowering the pH from 7.2 to 6.0 while adding 5 mg/L Fe diminished Ca loading by an average of 360 mg/kg. |
