RESPIRATORY DISTRESS: PAF and surfactant preparations

The role of platelet activating factor (PAF) in natural surfactants used in the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome is discussed. Randomized comparisons of artificial and natural surfactants need to be conducted.
