Zusammenfassung:Globalization has given firms a way to internationalize their suppliers and customers. They now have to find original strategies to become more and more efficient and innovative, to shorten the production processes that drive their products from Research & Development department to final customers. Outsourcing some activities has become a central part of many companies' operations strategies. It has proven essential to increase gross and new margin. In the competitive environment, this strategy is directly linked to the development of logistics and supply chain management, that often integrates a chain of independent forms working together. These new organizational rules lead to the development of strategies that permit management across firms in order to satisfy the consumer with the best lead times and the best costs. This article describes different key factors that contribute to the growth of the supply chain management concept and analysis through two monographic case studies.
