Collaborative Commissioning of Vascular Services

Vascular surgeons across the UK have been trying to influence the development of sensible local plans for delivering the service for over a decade. One of the major stumbling blocks to success has been the absence of a formal mechanism through which surgeons can engage with commissioners. This is one of the reasons why the College has established the director for professional affairs (DPA) role, working with the specialty associations through the regional professional affairs boards.
