Zusammenfassung: | The information provided by that study alone is insufficient in enriching the knowledge base of WRMSDs among school teachers in Nigeria. [...]considering that WRMSDs affect productivity at work and quality of life, there is a great need to investigate the prevalence of and risk factors of WRMSDs among Nigerian school teachers so as to enhance their productivity at work as well as making improvements in the education system of Nigeria. The most associated risk factors are performing the same task over and over (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, upper back, lower back, hips, knees, ankle and/or foot pain), heavy lifting (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, upper back, lower back, hips, ankle and/or foot pain), inadequate training on injury prevention (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, upper back, lower back, hips, knee) and continuing to work while injured or hurt (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, upper back, lower back, knee, ankle and/or foot pain). [...]teachers have to work and write above shoulder level for prolonged periods during working hours. [...]work-related musculoskeletal disorders are highly prevalent among teachers in Enugu, Nigeria. |
