Zusammenfassung: | At the juncture of the 20th century with the 21st it is hoped that nutritionists in general and related professionals will give some special time to at least a scanning of the principal bases on which Elmer Verner McCollum (1879–1967) became generally regarded by his peers as the doyen in discovering and extensive teaching of the importance of the newer knowledge of nutrition. His major role, and that of some other pioneers, became notable in the early decades of the century. All of us should look backward for better understanding and the satisfaction this can provide. |
