Zusammenfassung:THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY WAS TO COMPARE THE ATTITUDES OF BLACK AND WHITE EMPLOYEES IN SIMILAR JOB SITUATIONS AND TO PROVIDE DATA ON THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ATTITUDES AND PERFORMANCE-CRITERIA FOR THESE TWO GROUPS. INSTRUMENTS INVOLVED CONSISTED OF A 53-ITEM JOB-SATISFACTION QUESTIONNAIRE AND A SUPERVISORY-RATING FORM USED TO MEASURE JOB-PERFORMANCE. DATA ANALYSIS INVOLVED SATISFACTION DATA FOR BLACKS AND WHITES COMBINED IN A SINGLE PRINCIPAL AXIS-FACTOR-ANALYSIS AND VARIMAX-ROTATION, AND CORRELATIONS BETWEEN SATISFACTION-DIMENSIONS AND SUPERVISORY RATINGS BEING COMPUTED FOR EACH GROUP. BLACKS MANIFESTED GENERALLY MORE FAVORABLE ATTITUDES THAN WHITES THEREBY POINTING TO THE POSSIBILITY THAT THEIR WORK PERCEPTIONS MAY BE INFLUENCED BY OUTSIDE CONSIDERATIONS. TABLES.
