Zusammenfassung: | THE PSYCHOLOGICAL CLIMATE OF AN ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN DEFINED AS THE SET OF CHARACTERISTICS THAT DESCRIBE AN ORGANIZATION AND THAT 1. DISTINGUISH THE ORGANIZATION FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, 2. ARE RELATIVELY ENDURING OVER TIME, AND 3. INFLUENCE THE BEHAVIOR OF PEOPLE IN THE ORGANIZATION. ACCORDING TO LITWIN AND STRINGER THAT CLIMATE REFERS TO A SET OF MEASURABLE PROPERTIES OF THE WORK ENVIRONMENT AS PERCEIVED BY PEOPLE IN THE ENVIRONMENT. USING THEIR MODEL OF ORGANIZATION CLIMATE, A SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED AT A MAJOR MIDWESTERN MEDICAL COMPLEX. THE FACTOR STRUCTURE DERIVED FROM ADMINISTERING LITWIN AND STRINGER'S INSTRUMENT TO SUBJECTS IN THIS RESEARCH APPEARS TO BE A MEANINGFUL AND RELIABLE STRUCTURE. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE APPRIORI SCALES DEVELOPED BY LITWIN AND STRINGER DO NOT APPEAR TO MEASURE WHAT THEY ARE PURPORTED TO MEASURE, NOR DO THEY DEMONSTRATE ACCEPTABLE LEVELS OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY. |
