Zusammenfassung:Here, we report a case of a patient who had schizophrenic symptoms as the initial manifestation of HIV infection and had a regression of mental abnormalities following the initiation of HAART. In this respect, more studies are needed to conclude definite patterns of brain metabolism or changes with HAART in patients who develop psychotic symptoms as a first manifestation of HIV infection.
