Zusammenfassung: | Coal supplied for power plant located in Pacitan, East Java, is of South Kalimantan and West Sumatera origin and transported mainly through Java Sea using several types of vessel. This supply is very important for securing whole year electricity production. This mostly depends on sea and weather conditions which limit vessels operation pattern. However, costs are the only factor used when selecting the appropriate vessel. In fact, there are several other factors that may influence vessel performance. When these factors are considered, selecting the appropriate vessel is difficult because of complex interaction between them. For such circumstances, a multi-criteria evaluation analysis is appropriate. The aim of this paper is to develop an evaluation and decision-making model based on a multi-criteria evaluation analysis to select an appropriate type of vessel for transporting coal. The model will integrate several independent items and combine them before making a decision. Several types of vessel will be selected and several important aspects contributing to vessel performance will be selected and identified. Results from previous study will be used as a comparison. |
