Zusammenfassung: | In the last 10 years, outsourcing of information technology (IT) and business processes has grown at a compound annual rate of some 20%. Outsorcing of IT now accounts for about 1/3 of all IT spending globally. Business process outsourcing - putting technology intensive business processes out to tender - is growing dramatically, with the pressure to reduce costs as a key driver. Many companies have taken out as much cost as possible via traditional outsourcing contracts and are increasingly looking offshore. But it is questioned whether offshore outsourcing should be distant and cheaper or closer but more expensive. The answer may be a mixture of the 2 - "rightshore" outsourcing - the blending of a mix of onshore, near-shore and far-shore locations into a single, integrated, seamless service. A rightshore deliver model demands 4 firm foundations: 1. a single world-class operating model, 2. global support, local service, 3. strategic specialization, and 4. knowledge transfer. |
