Zusammenfassung:Family systems propositions as applied to career development theory were tested in a cross‐sectional survey examining the relationship between family members' perceptions of family functioning and adolescent career development measures. Results of the analysis showed that family functioning dimensions as evaluated by 11th‐grade students and their parents were more frequent and stronger predictors of career development than gender, socioeconomic status, and educational achievement.
