Zusammenfassung:SIX WRITERS GIVE THEIR VIEWS ON CAPITALISM, ITS CURRENT STATE AND WHAT DIRECTION IT IS MOVING. ONE HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT. HOWEVER, IF THE CAPITALISTIC SYSTEM IS TO SURVIVE, IT MUST SHOW THE ABILITY TO SUCCESSFULLY SOLVE THE NEW PROBLEMS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION AND OF CONSUMER PROTECTION. THE DAYS OF KEYNESIAN OPTIMISM ARE OVER - INFLATION WILL BE AROUND A LONG TIME OR CAPITALISM WILL SUFFER THE WORSE FATE, RECESSION AND, OR DEPRESSION. PRESSURE FOR INCOME AND WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION WILL INVARIABLE MOUNT. THE PRESENT SYSTEM WILL DRIFT INTO SOCIAL CAPITALISM - BLENDING THE EFFICACIES OF CAPITALISM WITH THE SOCIAL SENSITIVITY OF PUBLIC REGULATION. CAPITALISM MUST BE CHALLENGED IF CHANGE IS TO BE ACHIEVED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF DEMOCRACY. BUT IT IS A SYSTEM WORTH IMPROVING.
