Various indolyl nitroalkanes were prepared by the reaction of indoles with nitroolefins in the presence of β-cyclodextrin in water under neutral conditions. β-Cyclodextrin can be recovered and re-used several times without loss of activity. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
