The effect of elevated temperature on the complexation of am3+ with chloride

Zusammenfassung:The temperature dependence of the formation of the 1:1 Am^sup 3+^-Cl^sup -^ solution complex is reported. Stability constants were determined as a function of temperature using a solvent extraction technique. The stability constant for the formation of the AmCl^sup 2+^ complex is measurably higher at 50[double dagger]C compared to values determined under ambient conditions. From these studies, we have estimated the enthalpy of complexation in this temperature range. A small, positive enthalpy was observed. The results are discussed in the context of previous studies.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
